Best TV Deals in Australia This Week: OLED and QLED Price Drops You Shouldn’t Ignore
Samsung’s 2026 range is here, which means last year’s TVs are at record-low prices across JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and more.
Family Budget & Lifestyle Writer
Samsung just dropped its 2026 TV range in Australia. That means one thing for bargain hunters: last year’s models are getting price cuts across every major retailer. If you’ve been holding off on upgrading your lounge room screen, late April is shaping up as one of the best buying windows before EOFY kicks off in June.
Why TV Prices Are Dropping Right Now
Every year, the cycle is the same. Samsung, LG, and Sony announce their new TV lineups at CES in January, then start rolling them into Australian stores around March and April. The moment the 2026 models land on shelves, retailers need to clear warehouse space for incoming stock.
This year, Samsung’s 2026 range includes the new Micro RGB technology — their 55-inch model retails at AU$5,299 for the 65-inch version. With those premium sets arriving, stores are slashing prices on the 2025 models that still deliver outstanding picture quality.
Throw in free delivery promotions from Samsung (running until 13 May 2026 on all eligible TVs) and you’ve got a compelling reason to buy now rather than waiting.
The Best OLED Deals This Week
OLED remains the gold standard for picture quality, and prices have hit new lows.
LG 42" OLED Evo C5 (2025) — $1,039.30 at JB Hi-Fi (with Perks discount). This is the entry point for OLED and perfect for bedrooms or smaller living spaces. The C5 panel delivers the same inky blacks and vivid colours LG is known for, just in a compact 42-inch size.
LG 65" OLED Evo C5 (2025) — $2,081.45 at JB Hi-Fi (with Perks discount). For a proper lounge room centrepiece, the 65-inch C5 at this price is a serious bargain. It was retailing above $2,500 at launch.
LG 77" G5 OLED (2025 flagship) — $4,239 at Harvey Norman plus 10% back in gift cards. The G5 is LG’s premium gallery-range panel — the one that mounts flush to your wall. This deal, spotted on OzBargain, is the lowest price recorded for this model in Australia.
Samsung 65" S90F OLED (2025) — $1,299.99 with free delivery. For Samsung’s QD-OLED panel at under $1,300, it’s a genuine record low. The S90F uses Samsung’s second-gen QD-OLED technology, which produces brighter highlights than traditional OLED panels.
Big-Screen QLED for Less
Not everyone needs OLED. If you’re after raw screen real estate for sport and movies, QLED delivers excellent brightness and colour at much lower prices.
The standout this week: Hisense 100" Q7QAU QLED (2025) at JB Hi-Fi for $2,331. That’s a 100-inch television for under $2,400 — a price that would have been unthinkable two years ago. The RRP sits at $4,999, making this effectively a 53% discount. OzBargain users also note that if you can find an in-store demo model, JB knocks another 30% off.
For something more modest, Samsung’s older 4K QLED models are available from $249.99 for the 43-inch entry-level option, with mid-range 55-inch and 65-inch QLEDs sitting in the $600–$900 range at Harvey Norman and The Good Guys.
Don’t Forget the Soundbar
A great TV deserves decent audio. The Samsung HW-Q990F — Samsung’s flagship 11.1.4 channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with wireless subwoofer and rear speakers — is currently available for $902.06 at the Samsung Government Store (with stacked 5% chat code + 5% new order discount). That’s well below the $1,499 RRP.
If you’re spending north of $2,000 on a TV, pairing it with a proper Atmos soundbar transforms movie night. The surround effect from the Q990F’s rear speakers is something built-in TV speakers simply can’t replicate.
Where to Find the Deals
Here’s where the best TV bargains are turning up this week:
JB Hi-Fi — Their Perks program is where the real savings hide. Sign up for free and look for member-exclusive pricing on LG and Hisense models. Delivery is free on most TVs over 55 inches.
Harvey Norman — Running 10% off promotions on select LG OLEDs this month, plus gift card bonuses. Worth checking for price matching.
Samsung.com.au — Free standard delivery on all 2026-range TVs until 13 May, plus free desktop installation on models above 75 inches. Their Government and Education store offers additional discounts.
The Good Guys — Competitive on bundle deals (TV plus soundbar packages). Their standalone sales are solid right now.
Appliances Online — Good for larger appliance bundles with TV purchases. Currently offering 10% off select lines.
Should You Wait for EOFY?
EOFY sales kick off in late May and peak in June. Retailers will discount further to clear stock before 30 June. But here’s the catch — the current 2025-model clearance prices are already aggressive, and the best deals tend to sell out before EOFY proper.
My advice? If you see a price that’s within 10% of the lowest recorded price for a model you want, grab it. Most major retailers offer price protection for 14–30 days anyway. Buy now, claim the difference if it drops further during EOFY.
