EOFY Appliance Deals 2026: Fridges, Washing Machines and Vacuums Worth Buying in May

You do not have to wait until June. Several major Australian retailers have kicked off their EOFY appliance promotions early, and some of the prices are genuinely worth a look.

Appliances Online is running up to 30% off across fridges, dishwashers and washing machines this month. Harvey Norman has started discounting selected Samsung and LG refrigerators by $200–$400. The Good Guys is bundling free delivery on laundry packages over $1,000. If you are in the market for a big-ticket appliance, May is the time to start watching — not June.

Fridges: What Is Actually Cheap Right Now

Samsung 450L Bottom Mount Fridge (SR450LSTC) — spotted at $1,195 at Appliances Online, down from a $1,499 RRP. That is a legitimate 20% off, not a padded RRSP trick.

LG 475L InstaView Door-in-Door (GBV475WLHN) — $1,599 at Harvey Norman, roughly $300 below what it was selling for in March. The InstaView knock-twice glass panel is more than a gimmick if you keep forgetting what is inside.

Hisense 520L French Door (HR6TFF520SW) — $1,298 at The Good Guys. Hisense consistently undercuts Samsung and LG on capacity per dollar. This one gives you 520 litres for the price other brands charge for 420.

If you need something smaller — a bar fridge for the garage or an under-counter unit for a rental — the Esatto 150L bar fridge is $299 at Appliances Online. Nothing fancy, but it works.

Washing Machines: Front-Loaders Worth the Money

Front-loaders clean better, use less water and spin faster. The catch is they cost more up front. Here is where the EOFY discounts help.

Bosch Serie 6 9kg Front Loader (WAU28T64AU) — $1,049 at Appliances Online, down from $1,299. Bosch’s Serie 6 has been a consistent performer in Choice testing. The 9kg capacity handles a family wash easily.

Samsung 8.5kg EcoBubble (WW85T554DAW) — $749 at The Good Guys. This is about $200 less than the usual street price. The EcoBubble system dissolves detergent before it hits the drum, which is useful if you wash a lot of cold cycles.

LG 10kg WashTower (WHV1410W2A) — $1,899 at Harvey Norman. Yes, it is expensive. But you are getting a washer-dryer stacked unit that takes up the floor space of a single machine. For apartments and small laundries, that matters.

Robot Vacuums and Stick Vacs

Robot vacuums have come down fast in price. The gap between a $400 unit and a $1,200 unit is smaller than it was two years ago.

Drease X40 Pro Complete — $1,099 at Appliances Online (was $1,499). It mops, vacuums, empties its own bin and climbs over thresholds up to 22mm. For homes with a mix of hard floors and carpet, this is the one to get.

Roborock Q5 Pro+ — $649 at Bing Lee. Self-emptying dock, lidar navigation, strong suction on carpet. It does not mop, but at $649 it does not need to.

Dyson V15s Detect Submarine — $999 at The Good Guys. Dyson’s latest stick vac with a wet roller head for hard floors. The laser dust detection sounds silly until you see what it picks up that you missed.

Tips Before You Buy

  • Measure your space first. This sounds obvious, but returns on large appliances are a headache. Check the depth with the door open, not just the closed dimensions.

  • Check the energy rating. A fridge runs 24/7. The difference between a 2-star and a 4-star rating on a 500L fridge is roughly $80–$120 per year in electricity.

  • Ask about price matching. Appliances Online, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys all price-match each other. If you find a cheaper price at one store, take a screenshot and ask the other to match it.

  • Factor in delivery costs. Free delivery is common during EOFY but not universal. Some retailers charge $50–$100 for stairs, long carries or removal of your old unit.

  • Buy before 30 June if you need it for work. If you run a business from home or need an appliance for a workplace, EOFY purchases can be claimed as a tax deduction this financial year. Check with your accountant.

Where to Compare Prices

Use WhatsCheap to compare prices across Appliances Online, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and Amazon AU in one place. The price history charts show you whether a discount is real or just a bumped-up RRSP marked down to the normal selling price.

EOFY appliance sales run through the end of June, but the best stock moves early. If you see a price that is genuinely below the six-month average, grab it. Waiting another two weeks will not save you more — it might just mean your model sells out.
