🍜 Japan ski season is back on the menu — and March is where the smart money goes.

If you've been waiting for snow fares to drop, this is your moment. Late February and March are averaging around $1,240 return on full-service airlines, saving you roughly $330 compared to school holidays — and you'll get quieter slopes plus Niseko staying open until early May.

  • Sapporo (Niseko, Rusutsu, Furano): Melbourne $1,074, Perth $1,197, Brisbane $1,203, Sydney $1,239 return — most dates through March
  • Tokyo (Hakuba, Nozawa, Myoko): Sydney $1,041, Melbourne $1,070, Adelaide $1,077, Brisbane $1,187 return — about 3 hours by train and bus to the slopes
  • Prefer direct? Qantas Sydney–Sapporo non-stop is $1,392 return in early December (same flight hits $3,000+ in February), or Jetstar Brisbane–Tokyo non-stop from $1,151
  • Bringing your own skis or board? Cathay and Qantas include them in your checked allowance at no extra cost, and JAL is currently waiving the oversize fee too

Prices are return, per person, economy, checked today — and Google's tracker says now's the cheapest time to book February Tokyo fares, so don't sit on these.
