[NSW, SA, VIC, QLD] Battery Starter Plan Peak Feed-in Tariff: 26.5¢–29.0¢ Per kWh @ Origin Energy

Electrical & ElectronicsElectricitySolar Battery

If you've got solar and a decent-sized battery, Origin's new Battery Starter Plan is worth a serious look — you could earn up to 26.5–29.0c per kWh for exporting during the evening peak.

  • 4-hour peak export window (5–9pm in NSW, SA & VIC; 4–9pm in QLD) is when you get paid top dollar
  • One Victorian user's maths: exporting 20kWh on a summer day nets a $4.22 credit — even after the daily supply charge
  • Works best if you can export 10+kWh daily and your battery gets fully charged by the sun outside winter

Worth noting: if you've got a smaller battery and mostly self-consume, a plan like Globird Zero Hero may suit you better — and Victorian users might want to hold off until October for new free mid-day power plans. Otherwise, if you're a big exporter, this one's a ripper. ☀️🔋
