Lacoste was founded in 1933, when tennis champion René Lacoste created the first polo shirt and set a new standard for both sport and style. The famous crocodile comes from René Lacoste’s nickname on the tennis court and symbolizes strength, endurance, and originality. Lacoste was the first brand to place a logo visibly on the outside of clothing, which made them instantly recognizable. Today, Lacoste is among the most well-known brands in the world, celebrated for combining sport with elegance. The same applies to their watches, designed for men, women, and children.
