Rode PodMic Dynamic Microphone

A dynamic microphone specifically designed for speech applications, the PodMic USB White is excellent for podcasts, streaming, and use in broadcasting, audio drama, and dubbing studios. It delivers a rich, full, silky, and balanced sound. With both XLR and USB connections, the PodMic USB White can be used flexibly—either traditionally via XLR with a good preamp or audio interface, or digitally through the USB-C port into a computer or smartphone. The built-in audio interface in the PodMic USB White is top-notch, featuring an ultra-low-noise high-gain preamp and audiophile A/D converters. Particularly helpful is the integrated DSP chip, which gives the speaker's signal a highly professional sound right in the microphone with a high-pass filter, noise gate, compressor, and Aphex processing. To the left of the USB-C port is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, allowing for latency-free monitoring during recording (Direct Monitoring). The headphone volume control has a built-in push switch that allows you to toggle between Direct Monitoring and computer signal. An LED under the USB-C port indicates the current status: green for microphone signal (Direct Monitoring) and red for signal from the computer or mobile device. Weighing just under 1 kg, the PodMic USB White features a yoke mount that allows it to be attached to a table stand or microphone arm and easily oriented towards the speaker. There is no need for a shock mount, as the microphone capsule is elastically suspended, and the swivel mount is internally decoupled from the body, preventing issues with handling noise. The PodMic USB White is designed to be spoken into from the front, with an optimal distance of approximately 3 to 20 cm.
